Where Can I Apply My Magnetic Playwall?
Our Magnetic Wall Decal is designed for indoor use and performs best on clean, dry and smooth surfaces such as painted walls, glass, mirrors and doors.
As wall surfaces and paint finishes can vary, we recommend checking that your chosen surface is suitable before applying.
For the best application:
- Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust
- Allow freshly painted walls to fully cure before installation
- Apply slowly and press firmly across the entire decal for secure adhesion
- Follow the installation instructions provided
Good to know:
- Some specialty, stain-resistant or low-VOC paint finishes may affect adhesion
- The decal can be carefully removed and repositioned, but it is not designed for frequent removal and reapplication
- Repeated repositioning may reduce adhesion over time
- Removal results can vary depending on the condition, age and quality of the wall and paint
- Product colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device settings

Simply wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. For more stubborn marks, use a suitable whiteboard cleaner.

Setting up your Magnetic Playwall™ is simple!
Step 1: Prepare
Clean the surface thoroughly and make sure it’s completely dry and free from dust. We recommend laying your Playwall flat before installation.
Step 2: Peel & Apply
Peel back a small section of the backing and position your Playwall. Slowly remove the remaining backing while smoothing the decal onto the wall as you go.
Step 3: Smooth
Use the included scraper to press firmly across the surface, smoothing out any air bubbles and helping the Playwall adhere evenly.
Step 4: Time to Play!
You're ready! Add your favourite magnets and accessories and let the creativity begin.
Need to Reposition It?
The Magnetic Playwall™ can be carefully removed and repositioned when needed. For best adhesion, we recommend limiting repositioning to 3–4 times.

Pro tips
Which surfaces does it work on?
Our Uni-felt backing works on many surfaces like glass, VJ Panels, on smooth walls, primed walls, brick and more. Not suitable for peeling, damp, uneven wall or recently painted walls.
Can I remove and reuse it?
Yes - peel slowly and reapply to your new wall. For best results, we recommend up to 3–4 reapplications.
Help, I have bubbles!
Lift the section and re-smooth from the center outward, or push tiny bubbles out toward the edge with a towel or your scrapper.
How do I install my SmartyPals Magnetic Playwall™?
Installing your SmartyPals Magnetic Playwall™ is quick and easy - no tools or drilling required. Most families have it up in under five minutes.
Before you begin, make sure the surface is clean, dry, smooth and in good condition.
- Peel back approximately 5 cm of the protective backing from the top of the decal.
- Position and stick the exposed section to the wall.
- Slowly peel the remaining backing away while smoothing the decal onto the wall from the centre outwards to remove any air bubbles.

My daughter absolutely loves this wall decal and all the magnet sets. I just went all in and got all the magnet sets and the wall straight up. My daughter is in Pre-K so she’s just learning to read and she loves numbers and trying to do sums. It’s super easy to install and is up quickly. The wall and different magnet options keep her busy for ages. Such an awesome product! I love the choice of colours and the fact you could also get a freestanding wall is a great idea! I can’t wait for my 5 month old to be old enough to play on it too.
Brought it for my daughters 1st birthday and she has started really getting into it. We have cheap magnet tiles and they still stick pretty well. I also brought magnet photo frames from Kmart and put in photos of family and she loves that.
